- Designed for future vertical and horizontal expansion. Provisions made in design for the addition of future infrastructure capacity, such as space for a future 450-ton chiller and cooling tower.
- Stationary infrastructure such as piping and underground utilities were sized to accommodate the future growth.
- New Central Energy Plant serves the entire campus houses, two 350 BHP boilers, and two 1.5MW emergency generators.
- The chilled water plant is located on the ground floor of the hospital, and it houses three 450-ton variable speed chillers, primary and secondary chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps, and associated accessories.
- The cooling towers are located in a service yard along with two 20,000-gallon above ground fuel oil tanks which provide enough fuel to operate the generators and boilers for up to 125 hours.
