As the prime contractor, Charlotte Engineers provided design and construction period services for the construction of a new Rehab Medicine facility, relocating patients from space ill-suited for one of the busiest services on the medical center campus. The new building (23,500 SF) consists of ancillary/diagnostic, specialty care, common space, administrative space, and support spaces.
The project also demolished Building 52 (19,335 square feet) and converts existing Rehab Medicine space in Building 110B (5,000 SF) for administrative and swing space use. The project integrates layout and design to work with the adjoining Prosthetics Facility, making it simple and straightforward for veterans to access care. Project also provided approximately 25 parking spaces in close proximity and associated walkways, site lighting, site improvements and infrastructure work.
