Our team provided professional services for the development of an Integrated Facility Master Plan for the VA Columbia Health Care System. The scope included market-level service delivery planning for the entire catchment area, GAP analysis, facility upgrades, phasing strategies, department and space planning, activation and commissioning requirements, infrastructure upgrades, project cost estimates, and funding strategies. The design team also supported evaluations of build vs. lease vs. fee-out options and renovation vs. new construction approaches to optimize capacity and efficiency.
Specifically, our team assisted in planning MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) infrastructure projects to support the facility’s needs over the next ten years. Close coordination with architectural, healthcare planning, and facilities engineering teams ensured a comprehensive approach. The effort included evaluating existing conditions, identifying infrastructure gaps, and developing phased upgrade strategies. Contributions also involved assessments of facility capacity, utility requirements, cost estimates, and funding strategies. Additionally, collaboration with the VA Integrated Planning Team ensured alignment with long-term campus development goals.
