Our team delivered a comprehensive master plan for the Atlanta VA Health System that establishes a clear roadmap for growth and modernization. The effort included a Targeted Master Plan Report outlining deficiencies, programming needs, and phased implementation for 17 major projects, as well as a detailed Sterile Processing Services Study with a complete design bid build Statement of Work and supporting engineering analyses.
Using VA SEPS data, the team translated clinical workload and staffing projections into validated space requirements and identified a system wide shortfall of more than one million gross square feet, including a significant deficiency at the Decatur campus. The programming resulted in CFM approved space requirements to support future capital investment and funding requests. Supporting deliverables included gap analyses, conceptual floor plans, phasing diagrams, preliminary cost estimates aligned with SCIP, and stakeholder engagement documentation.
The plan prioritizes infrastructure upgrades, workflow improvements, and clinical service alignment while focusing on in place optimization to minimize disruption to veteran care. Overall, this work positions the Atlanta VA for long term growth, regulatory compliance, and continued excellence in serving veterans.
