• The replacement of two end of life 820KW generators. One new 1500kKW generator was specified to integrate with two recently installed Caterpillar generators. The controls for the two existing generators were refurbished so that they communicate with the new generator. The new generator was connected to the existing fuel delivery system.
• Associated electrical equipment upgrades included:
  • Existing paralleling switchgear upgraded to incorporate the new generator
  • New controls cubicle added
  • Three outdated transfer switches replaced
  • Circuits adjusted to the proper branch of emergency power
• The exhaust from the new generator was piped across the roof to the opposite side of the building to avoid contaminating the outside air intake for the operating room air handling unit.
